Well, with each passing day it seems the chicks keep getting taller and fatter. They are now starting to get in the rest of their body feathers so the soft fluffy chicks that we got what seems like so long ago are just about gone.
For the most part all of their wing feathers have come in so they are able to fly pretty good. We finally had to put a screen on top of the box while we are gone so they don’t fly out. They can fly from the bottom of the box up to the edge though, so I will be making a new, bigger and taller box for them today.
On a side note, think they have gotten pretty used to me now. I can place my hand in the box and they don’t run to the farthest corner away from me. Plus number 2 just flew up onto my arm last night when I lowered my hand into the box. It was pretty cool. I can also put my hand down with a little bit of food in the palm and they will come over and eat right out of my hands. Will make it so much easier when they move outside to catch them and check on them. Plus should help in collecting the eggs when that time finally comes around.
